Creative Ideas for Destination Bridal Gowns

A wedding taking place in a favourite vacation spot or a faraway location is called a destination wedding. Hawaii, Aruba, even Las Vegas are examples of popular locales. Sometimes, couples have their destination wedding alone or with a few close family members and friends, then have a larger ceremony or reception party for more guests upon arriving home. This type of wedding is like a marriage ceremony and honeymoon rolled into one! When selecting destination bridal gowns, you can get creative and stray from the traditional wedding dress design.

Beach is a place where many destination ceremonies take place. The last thing you want for beach wedding is an ornate gown with a large hoop skirt. For a beach wedding, think floaty and light fabrics and flowy, simple cuts. You can go with a long skirt, although shorter skirts work well in this instance as well. Sandals makes their own line of destination dresses for this very purpose. For example, their Style 1005 dress is a long strapless gown featuring stretch net over white satin with satin ribbon detailing. Or, check out something like Style 1006 which is a white chiffon gown with a shirred bodice and ruffled v-neck.

You could wear some fun accessories to the beach, which you would'nt wear otherwise. A tropical flower in your hair is a perfect accompaniment to a beach wedding dress. Or, choose a necklace or earrings made from sea shells. Even a piece of gold or silver jewelry with an ocean theme, such as a sand dollar or starfish pendant, can be the perfect item to pull together your look. When it comes to footwear, go barefoot or try cute sandals. Just be sure to get a pretty pedicure for that finishing touch!

Choices are unlimited for destination weddings held in places like Vegas. You can go with a traditional gown, or be totally untraditional. Some brides go with the fluffy white gown, while others wear a less formal dress in their favorite color. Destination bridal gowns are fun to shop for because there are fewer rules to observe than if you were preparing for a church wedding. You can select something that's beautiful and fun, which is exactly what your wedding day should be as well!
